Alfalfa ordered by Glanbia from Spain will arrive in Dublin on Sunday evening. The 1,000t of alfalfa will be available to farmers from Monday.

The Irish Farmers Journal understands that local Glanbia representatives are calling farmers in their areas to be able to prioritise distribution based on need.

There are reports that Glanbia is quoting farmers €215 for an 800kg 8x4x4 bale. The nutritional value is different to silage. Full details on how to substitute with alfalfa will be made available on the Glanbia Connect website on Saturday.
