Germany

The Anuga food and drink show opens in Cologne, Germany, this weekend. It is the largest show of its type in the world, spread over 11 exhibition halls the size of 20 football pitches, with 7,500 exhibitors and 165,000 trade visitors expected.

Argentina

Argentina exported 53,293t of beef in August, the highest monthly volume since 2005, according to the Institute for the Promotion of Argentine Beef (IPCVA). That brings exports for 2019 to the end of August up to 321,769t, up 45.2% over the same period last year.

America

The US has agreed a free trade deal with Japan, one of its biggest markets in Asia for agricultural produce. It is predicted by President Trump that this will lead to Japan opening new markets to approximately $7bn of US agricultural exports.

New Zealand

Latest trade figures suggest that NZ is losing dairy market shares in China. For the year to date, China imported 13% more WMP than during the same period a year ago, while NZ exported only 13% more.
