Pre-budget submission
The IFA this week launched a submission in advance of Budget 2018, calling for a number of measures to support farmers and the agricultural sector, among them low-cost loans for working capital and investment, increased farm scheme funding, changes to the Fair Deal Scheme and an increase in the earned income tax credit. GLAS payments

Following the announcement that 15% GLAS balancing payments have started, IFA rural development chair Joe Brady called for all farmers in GLAS to be paid immediately as it is now more than six months since farmers were due the payment.
He said the IFA is seeking that the remaining €15m be paid out without further delay.
