The Irish Farmers Journal has received photos from farmers across the country who have taken advantage of the good weather to clean off fields and make early hay and silage.

Cork farmer Ger Deasy making hay on his farm on Thursday 29 April near Galley Head Lighthouse in Ardfield, Co Cork. Ger, who usually makes hay during the summer months, took advantage of the southeasterly winds to dry out the crop of older grass and decided to try for hay.
