Over 65 tractors including 22 John Deere 6830s were the main attraction in Bord na Móna’s most recent machinery clearance auction from its Derrygreenagh site in Offaly.

Over 330 lots were offered at the sale which was held by Wilsons Auctions. The auction was held online, with people also having the option of bidding in a room at Wilsons in Dublin.

Apart from the tractors, the majority of the other lots were made up of tyres, tools and general machinery.

John Deere

The 6830s were mostly 2010-registered, with some 2011 and 2012 machines also included. Prices ranged from €18,750 up to €30,000 plus VAT and commission.

Several were described as non-runners, with a mix of engine and transmission issues.

Meanwhile, there were a handful of clean, straight tractors through the mix.

The majority were sold in the region of €23,000 to €26,000, plus VAT, and commission, but bear in mind these were all “standard” tractors with limited spec.

Others prices included €29,000 for a 2016 JD 5075M with 1,752 hours, €12,500 for a 2004 John Deere 5620 with 4,839 hours, €14,100 for a 2011 John Deere 5070M with 2,438 hours and €11,000 for a 2010 John Deere 5070M with 3,396 hours.

A 1999 New Holland 8360 showing 2,448 hours sold for €18,600, while a 2004 New Holland TM140 with 5,986 hours sold for €18,000. We recorded two other TM 140s being sold – a 2004 one with 4,244 hours selling for €16,600 and a 2005 model with 4,434 hours, with a set of tracks on the rear selling for €16,250. A 2006 TL70A sold for €11,000.

All lots in the sale were subject to VAT and commission plus VAT.
