John Deere has been awarded a gold medal and three silver medals by the DLG jury ahead of Agritechnica next month. The gold medal was awarded for a new eAutoPowr transmission and intelligent e8WD system it created as part of a joint venture with Joskin. The new John Deere eAutoPowr is the first electro-mechanical split-path IVT (Infinitely Variable Transmission). John Deere claims the IVT provides maximum reliability and durability compared to other gearboxes. It’s understood the new gearbox swaps the hydraulic motors for electric ones and that the integrated generator delivers up to 100kW of electricity for external use applications and implement electrification.
