Forget the Galway girl, it’s all about Ernie Deacy of Ernie’s Fruit & Veg, who has inspired this funky tea towel from Kai Restaurant, in the city’s vibrant west end.
As part of its artist-in-residence programme to celebrate local food legends, Jess Murphy of Kai teamed up with illustrator Ciara Coogan to create the tea towel, sharing her recipe for the restaurant’s famous apple tart, which is made using Ernie’s apples. And with orders already coming in from as far as England, Australia and Canada, it seems everybody wants a slice.
Priced at €10, the linen cloth tea towel is available from Kai on Sea Road. Call 091-526003, or connect on social media for further information. CL
