An unusual land sale totalling 184ac has come on the market at Lurgoe, Killenaule, Co Tipperary, and will be auctioned on 10 September. The property includes the Island of Derrynaflan. This is an area of elevated grazing land in the centre of a bog which is being harvested by Bord na Móna. The island was the location of the discovery of several precious historical artifacts, including the famous Derrynaflan Chalice by a father and son who were using metal detectors.
