A number of farms in the Myshall and Kildavin area on the border between Carlow and Wexford have had sheep killed in recent days. The four farmers say a large dog was involved in the attacks.
“It’s the same dog all the time because we’ve tracked him,” said Don Kidd, who has had six sheep killed by this dog. “The attacks aren’t consecutive, a few days could go by without any issues. But this dog has travelled three miles to this area.”
One farmer in the area, Tom Murphy, had more than 20 sheep killed.

“Lucky enough my six sheep killed were all dry, but John Bayley has also had sheep mauled and attacked,” Kidd said. “Down through the years I’ve always asked neighbours to make sure they tie up their dogs if they are leaving them outside. We’ve reported the attacks to the gardaí.”
