The majority of hill farmers and crofters can expect to receive a letter offering the Less Favoured Area Support Scheme (LFASS) payment within the coming weeks.
At NFU Scotland’s AGM held last month it was announced that around 11,000 farmers will receive the letter detailing the funding offer from the Scottish Government.
The letter will offer 90% of last year’s scheme payment.

The funding can provide additional support for farmers and crofters, allowing
businesses to continue as well as helping to maintain sustainable farming systems.
Those who respond to their letter quickly could expect to receive their loan payments by the beginning of April.
