'Anna May - Banríon An Plough' is a one-hour observational documentary following Anna May McHugh over the course of four months up to and including Ploughing 2018.

The build-up to the 2018 National Ploughing Championships and the four days over which it took place this year are to hit small screens on Christmas night.
The hour-long documentary will follow managing director of the National Ploughing Association Anna May McHugh and go behind the scenes in the run up to Ireland’s largest outdoor event.
The show Anna May - Banríon An Plough will also look at what the Ploughing organisers had to do when faced with storm Ali and follows the organisers through the event and the drama of the storm.

The programme will look at what it takes to organise an event of its scale, look at the personal toll involved in its organisation, address the finances of the NPA and ask farmers what the Ploughing means to them.
It will also at Anna May’s role in the NPA to date and look back at the archive footage over the years.
Champion ploughman Eamon Treacy is also featured in the documentary and follows him through the championships.
Anna May - Banríon An Plough is produced by Power Pictures Ltd and will be broadcast on Christmas Day at 9.25pm on TG4.
