Slow Moving Clouds – 6 September: Dublin-based band, Slow Moving Clouds are coming to Roscommon Arts Centre on 6 September. Their unique style which encompasses both Irish and Nordic folk traditions with post-punk drones, baroque strings and soaring falsetto vocals creates an immersive sound unlike anything you’ve ever heard before. The band is made up of Aki, on vocals, whose interests also include making his own string instruments. Ultan O’Brien is on the fiddle. From one of musical theatre’s most exciting new composers, this honest and funny musical is about establishing connections in the city that never sleeps. Brought to you by The Rising Theatre Company, the piece aims to integrate younger performers with experienced professionals in each of their productions. Arán and Im – 7 September: Arán and Im is a unique piece that brings to life the mysterious glory of our natural world through language. It pivots around land and local Irish food with freshly baked traditional sourdough bread for the audience to sample with butter churned from Irish cream. Fred Cooke – 7 September: Fresh from the set of Dancing with the Stars, twinkle toes Fred Cooke has taken to the road with his new comedy tour. He’s been named Irish comedian of the year and has also supported comedic legend, Tommy Tiernan. Armed with his guitar, Cooke’s show is set to leave the audience in stitches as he delivers his unexpected killer punch lines in Sligo on 7 September. It: Chapter Two – 6 September: It: Chapter Two is an upcoming American supernatural horror film and sequel to 2017 film It, both based on the 1986 novel It by Stephen King. In It: Chapter Two, IT returns to the town of Derry once again, to terrorise its residents. Twenty-seven years after the Losers Club defeated Pennywise, and now adults, the Losers have long since gone their separate ways. However, strange things are happening again so Mike – the only remaining member of the club – calls the other members home. Remembering their past, the Losers Club have to conquer their fears again to destroy Pennywise once and for all. It: Chapter Two hits Irish cinemas on 6 September.
