Farmer Michael and Kathleen Live – 14 February: Steve and Sinéad may have only been on the comedy scene three years but they’ve amassed a following of over 500,000 people worldwide and 100m views on some sketches online. On the night, their characters Farmer Michael and his long-suffering wife Kathleen plan to discuss all things topical and they might even treat you to a couple of their well-known cover songs. Gone Full Havisham – 14 February: Irene Kelleher, the award-winning performer and writer, introduces you to Emily in the Penthouse Suite. Emily is dressed in her wedding dress and for the past five months has been a social media sensation. Some say she’s a lunatic, more say she needs help, but to others she’s a hero. Emily is someone who isn’t afraid to tell it as it is. Irene Kelleher has taken Dickens’ Miss Havisham into the social media era with all the gloss and fakery. The Story of Swing – 14 February: Luke Thomas and his band The Swing Cats will bring their hit show The Story of Swing to Sligo’s Hawk’s Well Thetare for the first time. Move through the ages with household names’s like Sinatra, Bobby Darrin to the modern era of Michael Bublé and Paolo Nutini. Concertina Cruinniú – 14-16 February: Miltown Malbay, Co Clare, plays host to the eighth annual Concertina Cruinniú from 14-16 February. This weekend provides a schedule packed full of concertina classes, lectures, concerts and recitals. There are junior and adult sessions in the afternoons and free music sessions at night time in the pubs. The classes are held in the new community centre while lectures, recitals and concerts are held in various pubs around the town. Ticket prices range from free to €15. Workshop

Oyster Industry Workshop – 13 and 14 February: Bord Iascaigh Mhara (BMI), Ireland’s seafood development agency have collaborated with IFA Aquaculture to hold an oyster industry workshop in Carlingford, Co Louth, on 13 and 14 February. The two-day event will include speakers from the marine industry, BIM, IFA Aquaculture, the Marine Institute and more. These speakers will discuss the latest in technical developments, food safety, markets, water quality issues, emerging diseases and disease management. Day two will also include site visits to oyster producers. Tickets are free and are available via Eventbrite.
