With Europe’s largest machinery trade fair, Agritechnica, just around the corner, all major machinery manufacturers continue to take the wraps of their latest innovations and provide a glimpse of what’s in store for the 2026 season and beyond.

Last week, Horsch held a press event at its Ronneburg facility just south of Leipzig in Germany. The facility is home to production of the brands cultivation equipment and seed drills.

Speaking at the event, Frederic Horsch said that the company is very satisfied with the 2025 business year to date, despite the current economic and political challenges. For the 30th year in a row the Horsch continues to grow its revenue, forecasting 2025’s turnover to exceed €1.1 billion.

The workforce continues to grow too as it nears close to 3,000 staff members worldwide. Frederic outlined that the brand is constantly working on new prototypes and updating existing machines to better serve its customer needs.

This explains the considerable number of updated models for 2026, some of which we are about to look at.

With a strong farming heritage, founder Michael Horsch originally started out selling direct to farmers just over 40 years ago, Frederic said that maintaining this close relationship with customers is still key today.

Despite tariffs and the ongoing challenges surrounding the North American market, it and South America are two regions that the company sees the largest potential for growth and has developed specific products for these markets.

Further strengthening its presence, Horsch this year opened a new sales and marketing faciltiy in Minnesota.

That said, Europe still accounts for over 85% of the company’s revenue with Ukraine being the single-largest market for its equipment in Europe.

Software and digitalisation are areas of the company that undergoing significant investment, in the form of myHorsch and HorschConnect portal etc.

Larger discs and reworked frame for Joker HD

Horsch has taken the wraps off three new Joker HD models with working widths from 4.15m to 6.15m, a product line which it describes as ideal for catch crop destruction and incorporating organic materials and residues.

Starting with the frame, it has been redesigned to offer a new folding concept and provide a more user-friendly operating experience.

Optionally, a knife roller or levelling paddle cross bar can be mounted in front of the disc zone for crop destruction or levelling. Disc angle has been made more aggressive. Two disc diameters are offered: 620mm or 680mm.

The former for working depths of up to 15cm, the latter up to 20cm. A wide range of single and double packer options are available. Distance between the two packer rollers can be adjusted depending on soil conditions, as well as the ability to transfer the majority of weight to the front roller for breaking down clods.

The new compact Tiger SL is available in 3m, 4m and 5m working widths.

Mounted Tiger SL stubble cultivator

A new compact three-point linkage version has been added to the Horsch Tiger range of stubble cultivators. Available in 3m rigid, 4m and 5m folding versions, the Tiger SL has been designed for tractors from 240hp.

Models feature a compact two-bar frame, offering four tine rows, each capable of working down to depths of 30-35cm.

Tine spacing remains 23cm, the same as on Fortis SL models. Each tine has a break-back release force of up to 650kg.

The cultivator can be equipped with the same MulchMix point range as AS models, each offering working widths from 2.5cm to 8cm.

The Terrano FX packer range is available and offers central adjustment to different working conditions.

The Pronto DC 9 frame has been strengthened to support the larger 6,000l hopper.

Bigger hopper/beefier frame for Pronto 9 DC

Horsch has updated its Pronto 9 DC 9m trailed seed drill for improved performance. One of the most major updates is that hopper capacity has increased from 5,000l in double hopper configuration to 6,000l.

As result, the frame has been strengthened to carry the additional load. The machine is offered with the TurboDisc seed coulter or the new ParaDisc seed coulter option. The ParaDisc has a new parallelogram design which better maintains optimum seed placement depth in all soil conditions.

Each coulter has an individual pressure of up to 150kg per individual row for adequate penetration even in the driest of conditions.

The new Grain and Fertiliser (G&F) double hopper system allows for the application of two different components on the one seed horizon, e.g the simultaneous application of seed and fertiliser.

There is an optional Precision Placement Fertiliser (PPF) system which allows fertiliser to be placed in the soil a few centimetres below the seed furrow via a separate coulter system.

Both left and right wings can now be folded individually for ease of hopper loading with small telehandlers and loaders.

The power harrow and seed wagon element of the 7.2m Versa 7 SW are suspended on separate wheels during transport.

Larger Versa 7 SW 7.2m power harrow drill

Horsch has extended its power harrow seed drill range with the new Versa 7 SW, offering a 7.2m working width. This working width was earlier introduced on the Pronto 7 DC to better suit farmers running 36m tramline systems.

Not only has working width increased but hopper capacity has too. The Versa 7 SW is equipped with a 6,300l double hopper.

The basic concept of the drill has also changed and consists of an independent seed wagon and power harrow, each equipped with their individual transport wheels. This eliminates the need for hydraulically moving the tyre packer under the rotary harrow.

The additional transport wheels of the 7.2 m rotary harrow eliminate the negative vertical load in road traffic.

The new combination consists of four working zones: The front tyre packer reduces tracks and distributes the machine weight across the entire working width.

This is achieved by the large 700/50-22.5 tyres while the power harrow ensures optimum fine soil production.

The following combination of packer and TurboDisc seed coulters claims precise seed placement. The tine spacing of the machine is 15 cm.

The fan which has an optional oil cooler is integrated directly into the hopper. This avoids frequent service intervals and reduces downtime.

The new HarrowDisc ND single coulter system for Avatar SD and LC models allows a 20cm row spacing.

Narrower row spacing for Avatar models

Horsch also showcased its new NarrowDisc ND single disc coulter. The objective was to establish precise coulter control at a row spacing of 20 cm on a 1-bar machine.

The new ND coulter will be available on Avatar SD and LC models. The ND coulter allows for 20cm row spacing and resembles the SingleDisc SD coulter not only regarding how it works but also in terms of components.

Depth control is adjusted via the lateral depth control wheel. The skid which rests directly on the seed disc, opens and clears the seed furrow into which the grain is then placed and pressed by the catching roller or the optionally mounted uniformer. The seed furrow is closed by the side-mounted, pre-tensioned closing wheel. The ND coulter, too, is mounted via rubber elements and has no lubricating points. The ND coulter is mainly used for mulch seeding and in min-till situations.

In addition to the 50:15:35 split hopper, the 400l mini drill allows the possibility to sow up to four different seed/fertilsier types.

Triple tank for 12m Avatar LC seed drill

Horsch has further improved the versatility of its 9,400l triple-tank Avatar 12.25 LC seed drill. The drill’s hopper is split to the ratio of 50:15:35. When fitted with the optional 400l MiniDrill flexibility increases further, delivering up to four separate seed/fertiliser components.

The 12m model has a 3,000l increase over the 12m Avatar SD model and is offered with single-disc coulters, each offering 350kg of pressure at 25cm spacings. The latest model is said to be ideally suited for direct, min-till and seeding into standing cover crops.

There are plans to add equipment options to the Avatar series in the future.

These include the AutoForce automatic coulter pressure regulation system and the RowControl distribution tower.

The Fortis LT is suited to shallow tillage and primary cultivations to depths up to 30cm.

Fortis LT universal cultivator for tractors up to 500hp

Horsch also extended the Fortis universal cultivator range with the addition of the Fortis LT for tractors up to 500hp.

The new range is available in four working widths from 4.60m to 6.75m; 4.4LT (4.6m), 5.4LT (5.6m), 6.4LT (6.2m) and 7.4LT (6.7m). The heavy-duty cultivator series is designed for medium sized farms and can be used for both shallow tillage and primary cultivations to depths up to 30cm.

The Fortis LT features a 4-bar design, a tine spacing of 27 cm and a frame height of 850 mm to ensure good clearance even at working depths of 30 cm. The well-proven TerraGrip tine system and curve tine design allows for a low draft requirement. Compared to the proven Fortis AS, the LT is even more compact and shorter.

The levelling tools are positioned as close as possible to the last row of tines to ensure that the flow of soil is ideally directed into the levelling discs.

The transport wheels fold out of the working area and therefore do not affect material flow. The Fortis LT can be equipped with the MulchMix coulter system and a wide range of packer options (SteelFlex, Double RollPack and OptiRoll Packer) to optimise the flexibility of the machine.

The angle of the double packers can be adjusted via aluminium clips which in turn adjusts the contact pressure between the roller and the surface.

This results in better consolidation in dry conditions and increases the load-bearing capacity of the packer in wet conditions.

The Leeb 9 LT 9,000l sprayer is designed for customers who need more tank capacity but do not want to compromise on agility of a single-axle machine.

9,000l tank capacity with Leeb 9 LT

Although not present at the press event but set to be on display at Agritechnica this November, Horsch spoke about its new 9,000l single axle trailed sprayer model, the Leeb 9 LT.

The new model will be positioned between existing Leeb LT models, the Leeb GS and the tandem series. The 9 LT is based on the same blueprint as existing Leeb LT models, including its plastic tank technology, albeit enlarged to 9,000l. The frame, water circuit and the powerful centrifugal pump with a flow rate of up to 1,000 l/min are taken from the Leeb GS.

Due to the single-axle design, Horsch believes that the 9 LT remains compact and manoeuvrable, suiting medium-sized to large farms and regions with small-scale field structures or limited access. The machine fills a gap in the portfolio for customers who need more tank capacity but do not want to compromise on agility.

Both the Leeb CT front tank and Partner FT front hoppers are now available with front camera systems.

Flexible front tanks and camera

Horsch showcased its Leeb CT (combination tank) front tank which can be used in different situations such as liquid fertilisation while sowing or during mechanical weed management.

The I-Manager Isobus user interface is said to allow for easy integration with other Horsch machines.

The Leeb CT is based on the well-proven Leeb FT. The front tank is available with the following capacities: 1,400l, 1,800l and 2,400l.

Ex factory, the new version is equipped with a 180l fresh water tank and an induction option in the dome as well as a piston diaphragm pump with water circuit.

The front tank is available with a camera system which features two lenses (left and right) and a separate screen to provide operators with a better view of oncoming traffic at junctions and when exiting field gaps.

The camera system is also available for the Partner range of front mounted seed and fertiliser hoppers. The Partner range is available in capacity from 1,600l to 2,500l double and triple tank versions.
