At a recent press event near its headquarters in Saverne, France, Kuhn unveiled a host of new grassland and tillage equipment ahead of this November's Agritechnica show in Germany.
Below we look at some of the new grass equipment, the majority of which will be available for the 2026 working season.
Mounted twin rotor rake
Another unique machine unveiled was the GA 7631 P mounted twin rotor rake. The rake is capable of producing swaths from 1.30m to 2.20m thanks to its telescopic working width adjustment which allows a maximum working width of 7.4m.
No tine arms are required to be removed for transport thus saving time. Meanwhile, in transport position the rake measures 2.8m wide and 4m long. The rotors are equipped with 3D articulation allowing them to move in all directions. Working height can be adjusted either manually, by crank handle, or hydraulically, as an option, depending on requirements. Other adjustments, such as folding and unfolding, and individual rotor lift, can be carried out from the tractor cab.
The GA 7631 P weighs 1.5t, and claims a centre of gravity that is positioned close to the tractor, which Kuhn believes leaves it compatible with medium-powered tractors from 140hp.

Non-conditioner mower combination gets auger groupers
Like the majority of its competitors on the mower market, Kuhn now also offers the possibility of groupers on its non-conditioner butterfly combination. The plain disc GMD 9539 RV combination uses conveying augers for the centre delivery of crop. Meanwhile, it is possible to raise the auger hoods and hydraulically for wider spreading of the crop or single side grouping depending on operator preference.
With a working width between 9.1m and 9.5m in combination with a front mower, the GMD 9530 RV is recommended for tractors of 200hp and above. The conveyor augers are powered by a separate drive via a U-joint and gearbox as well as its automatic cam-type cut out clutch. The unit is equipped with Hardox wear parts to reduce maintenance.
From the cab via the control box, the operator can manage the mowers, adjust the suspension or raise the grouper hoods. As standard, the GMD 9530 RV is equipped with the Optidisc Elite cutterbar and Fast-Fit quick-fit knives. Kuhn’s lift-control system and non-stop safety system protect mower beds in the event of encountering a foreign object.

More automation for VB 7100 balers
The VB 7100 variable chamber round baler has gained a host of baler automation features which are now AIF certified. Features such as tractor implement management (TIM) – whereby the baler controls the tractor for pickup and tailgate operation – are now certified. So too is section control and ‘task controller basic’ which stores all information regarding the particular baling task, ie. bale weight, moisture and location etc. Section control allows the baler to see where it has worked and not worked and either lower or raise the pickup depending on its location within the field. All task-related information can then be shared with a farm management system. The new weighing system measures the bale via four load sensors and a slope compensation sensor mounted on the bale kicker.

VBP 7100 gets more knives and pull-out knife bank
Kuhn has upgraded the knife bank on its variable chamber combination baler, the VBP 7100 series. In addition to the current 14-knife and 23-knife rotor options, a 33-knife rotor has been added, offering a theoretical chop length of 34mm.
The knife bank now quickly pulls out to the side of the machine using just one hand. A new knife cleaning process has been integrated into the control terminal which sees all knives engage and disengage three times to ensure each knife slot is clean before pulling out the unit for inspection. All knives (active and non-active) are now powered up and down to avoid any struggles during replacement.
Pickup intake has been upgraded to accommodate the increased chopping capacity. A 1,000rpm gearbox has been fitted. There is now only one single chain for the entire pickup intake. Stronger tines and plastic strippers have also been added to better suit the Opticut 33 rotor.

The VBP 7100 flagship combination baler will now be available with a 33 knife rotor.

New 14.5m plain butterfly mowers
Something a little more novel that was unveiled at the event was the brand-new GMD 15030 plain disc butterfly mower combination. The brand new machine features what is believed to be the widest cutting width of any mounted mower on the market at 14.5m. Despite its cutting width of 14.5m when combined with a 3.1m front mower, the rear combination is compact in transport mode and uses the same architecture as other butterfly mowers from Kuhn. However, a double folding cutter bar design sees it able to fold to 3m and under 4m high for transport.
In order to be compact, the rear mowing unit is equipped with four 3.1m Optidisc Elite cutterbars (two on each side), each of which carries seven discs. The design uses patented gearboxes to transfer power efficiently to the outer cutter bars while also serving as a pivot for following ground contours and compact folding for transport. A patented hydraulic cylinder between each of the two mower beds on either side keeps the optimum distance between the beds to avoid vanes of uncut grass while making sure the pressure is balanced across the entire working width.
Operator can choose between the simple and user-friendly KFA 12 control box or the Isobus mower control kit. With the kit, all machine functions can be controlled via the tractor terminal and joystick.
Each rear bed is equipped with Kuhn’s lift-control system and non-stop safety system which allows each side to move back and upwards in the event of encountering a foreign object. The rear unit weighs in at 3,800kg while 230hp is said to be the minimum power requirement.

The double folding setup has a maximum cutting width of 14.5m.
