APV has added to its arsenal of pasture management tools, with the introduction of its new Grassland Combi GK 300 S pasture rejuvenator. The new 3m single pass reseeding system is designed to carry out five operations in one pass; levelling, harrowing, aeration, seeding and rolling.
The front harrow comprises a levelling board followed by two rows of spring tines to scarify the surface ahead of seeding and rolling. The rear unit is equipped with a levelling board, followed by row of 24 sprung seeding shoes. These sprung shoes are designed to slit the surface up to 3cm before seed is pneumatically distributed and placed into each slot at the required depth. The hydraulically adjustable coulter bar can be pressurised to apply up to 70kg of downwards force per coulter. Each of the 24 coulters are spaced at 12.5cm. Once placed, the process is finished off using the 410mm diameter prismatic roller which consolidates the surface.
The APV PS 300 seeder is equipped with a hydraulic fan and precise electric seed metering. A second pneumatic seeder (Smart Twins Seeders) can be mounted for broadcast seeding and increase the versatility of the unit for applications such as companion cropping. This Smart Twin Seeder setup also offers half width shut off, variable seeding possibilities via Isobus.
