Agritechnica: Bogballe previews new spreader features
new integrated hydraulic drive system, updated Isobus system and a new Weatherman wind and humidity measurement tool, were among the innovations on the Bogballe stand at Agritechnica.
The new features and updates will be available on a newly developed MH45 hydraulic-driven model.

Alongside its full spreader range, Danish fertiliser spreader manufacturer, Bogballe previewed a number of new features, which it will be rolling out on its higher-end spreaders.
Displayed on a cutaway show rig was its new integrated hydraulic drive system which will replace the existing retrofit hydraulic motor, which mounts on the gearbox PTO input. The new integrated hydraulic drive system will make it possible to independently control the speed of each disc and improve the precision of headland/ boundary spreading.
A new Isobus system, with both new hardware and software, is said to further increase precision, especially when combined with the new hydraulic drive system and new Weatherman on-board weather station. Shown for the first time, the Weatherman system measures both wind speed and humidity, from which it can automatically optimise spreader settings. The driver will also be alerted if wind speed becomes too strong and recommends if spreading should stop. From Bogballe’s research, humidity can vary from 35% to 95% over the course of a day and similarly have a huge impact on the spread pattern.

The number of joystick functions via the CCI joystick have been expanded. It is now possible to switch between normal and headland spreading during operation as well as select the exact headland spreading strategy. The wiring harness has also been updated to work with a new generation of actuators and new functions.
Other updates include a redeveloped weighing algorithm and two shutter actuators, one for each disc.
