Since introducing the updated 6M tractors at Agrictechnica in 2019, John Deere has continued to develop the Series and has now launched several major updates. Peter Thomas Keaveney reports.
The larger six-cylinder 6175M and 6195M tractors can now be equipped with a 155-litre/min hydraulic pump.

In addition to the 6M range of gearbox options, John Deere has now made its AutoPowr transmission available to customers. Together with the full Auto mode and its automatic engine/transmission management, AutoClutch enables the operator to stop the tractor by simply using the brake pedal, which the firm says makes a huge difference when carrying out a lot of shuttle work.
Those after a more affordable solution can choose AutoPowr on the right-hand console with either mechanical or electrohydraulic spools. For more comfort, the Premium Edition option features AutoPowr on the compact CommandArm.
John Deere is now introducing a new entry-level guidance solution on all 6M Series models. With AutoTrac now on the corner post display, there is no longer any need for an extra cab display. All the new system needs to operate AutoTrac is a StarFire satellite receiver and it’s ready to go. John Deere says customers can save up to 30% of the cost of a separate display, but maintain full flexibility of choice as an upgrade is possible at any time.

Within the four-cylinder tractor range introduced at Agritechnica last autumn, the firm said the 6140M has become a best seller. With a 2.58m wheelbase and weighing just under 6t, this tractor delivers up to 166hp with Intelligent Power Management.
Meanwhile, the larger six-cylinder 6175M and 6195M tractors can now be equipped with a 155-litre/min hydraulic pump.
