National used tyre collection days are set to return
Circol ELT has announced it will hold a series of used farm tyre take-back days nationwide. The first will take place at Crossmore Tyre Recycling, Kildorrery, Co Cork (P67 YC99), on 20–22 November 2025, from 8am to 4pm each day. The organiser has said that further dates for spring and autumn 2026 and 2027 will be announced following this event. Circol ELT noted that all regions will have access to a subsidised rate for the recycling of waste tyres which are no longer in use on farms.
Under the pilot programme, farmers can bring up to four tonnes of tyres at a cost of €50 per tonne, with any additional tonnage charged at €120 per tonne. The service is open to farmers only, with a herd number required.

In order to participate, farmers must register in advance on circolelt.ie. Estimated tyre numbers will also be required. Under the guidelines, Circol ELT has said that the tyres must be clean, dry and free from debris (stones, clay, water). It added that tyres with steel rims attached or contaminated tyres will not be accepted.
