John Deere has added three new models to its large square baler range just in time for Agritechnica.

The three models include the L624 (70cm x 120cm), L633 (90 x 80cm) and the L634 (90 x 120cm). These will be available for the 2020 season and replace the L1500 Series, while the single tie knotter 1424 and 1424C large square balers are no longer available.

John Deere claims the new square balers have been designed to improve productivity by up to 15% and bale weight by up to 5%.

The L600 Series machines are fully Isobus compatible. The newly designed pre-cutter can be controlled from the cab via the Isobusdisplay, and features knife group selection.

The moisture sensor has a measurement range of 9-40%, up from 11-34% on previous models. Some of the components have been beefed up. They now use a 468kg flywheel, which is 64% heavier than previous machines. Hydraulic chamber pressure has also been increased by 17% from 180 to 210 bar. The rotor diameter on the heavy-duty RotoFlow has been increased by 25%.
