• Mallow Macra is turning one this year and to celebrate the club is holding a birthday party on Friday 8 April from 9pm in the Roundabout Tavern. There will be a DJ on the night with games and a few surprises as well. A great night is guaranteed. All are welcome.   • The annual hurling and camogie blitz hosted by Kilkenny Macra takes place at St Kieran’s College on Saturday 23 April with sign-in at 10.30am. There will be a maximum of 10 players per panel. Pitch size will be from 21 yard line to 21 yard line and there will be rolling subs. The competition will be subject to weather conditions. There can be as many teams as you wish from each county/region. Full hurling/camogie rules apply. No mixed teams are allowed. Don’t forget you must supply your own hurl and helmet.   • Mountmellick Macra are celebrating their golden jubilee in 2016. Celebrations will be held on Sunday 1 May, with an ecumenical service in our Macra hall, followed by a banquet at The Heritage Hotel, Portlaoise. Tickets will cost €40. For tickets, contact Ursula on 083-482 5090.
