I see two agricultural stalwarts have been announced as finalists of the 2020 Irish Red Cross Humanitarian Awards.

Mike Magan has been nominated for the corporate impact award in recognition of his campaign where each of Ireland’s dairy farmers donated the equivalent of one day’s milk from a cow for humanitarian aid in Yemen. Approximately €150,000 has been raised.

Alma Jordan’s AgriKids has been nominated for the digital influence award, in recognition of its farm safety education platform with the goal to engage, educate and empower children to be farm safety ambassadors.

The awards recognise those who have had a humanitarian impact on the lives of others through volunteering, skill sharing, storytelling, or fundraising.
