Levi Fagan, a transition year student attending Dunshaughlin Community College, Co Meath, has designed a number of posters aimed at raising the awareness of important topics such as carbon footprint, health and safety and COVID-19.

The posters were designed in an easy-to-follow A to Z manner, with each letter of the alphabet signifying an important element of the topic or safety lesson.

Levi says the posters cater for a wide range in ages and can be used to teach young children the alphabet while also informing adolescents on a range of important life lessons.

“From discussions with students and adults alike, there are many people who do not understand many of the now everyday COVID-19 buzzwords, for example. Education of these COVID-19 words is key in helping to flatten the curve.”

The safety posters are currently entered in the Meath Schools County Finals for Enterprise. “Having recently won the Boyne Valley Health & Safety Award for my COVID-19 poster in the Meath Student Enterprise competition 2020, I am now competing for a place in the County Finals for Enterprise which takes place on 26 February and hoping to qualify for the All-Ireland Competition.”

Levi has sold 139 posters (cost €5 each for a high-quality A3 poster with a gloss finish) to 104 businesses in the Trim, Dunshaughlin and Navan areas.

“I have received very positive feedback from the businesses that have purchased the posters. In these unprecedented times, we all need to come together and share our knowledge in order to promote our highest safety measures possible, and with this in mind, I believe that my poster should be clearly displayed in as many places as is possible.”
