Agri-services group Origin Enterprises reported an 11.4% increase in underlying revenue in the third quarter driven by an 11% increase in volumes compared to the same quarter last year.

Revenues were €595.4m for the period, reflecting a more normalised season demand compared to last year which was delayed. This pushed most inputs into the fourth quarter last year.

Its agronomy service revenue and crop protection volumes grew by over 30% in the quarter against the same period last year.

The group said the favourable weather which assisted conditions on-farm, along with the positive impact of sterling depreciation on crop margins resulted in good demand for agronomy services and inputs in the nine-month period.

Underlying volumes in its Continental Europe business grew 6.2% in the third quarter, despite underlying revenues being back 1.6%.

This principally reflected highly competitive trading conditions in the Ukraine.
