Quotes for fertiliser have been cut again by some merchants in NI over recent days.

It leaves prices for CAN at around £530-540/t, with compound products such as 27-4-4 at £500/t and 20-10-10 starting from £510/t.

The latest changes mean fertiliser prices have fallen by over £30/t since the springtime peak.

However, the indications are that further price cuts could be applied after the July holidays in a bid to get more product moving onto farms this summer.

On that basis, the advice to local farmers is only buy fertiliser as its needed over the coming weeks.
