NI milk production continues to rise
NI milk producers delivered a record-breaking total of over 1.5bn litres between January and June – an 8.53% increase compared to the same period last year.
Farmers responded to favourable milk-to-feed price ratios, with January seeing a 9% increase in milk volume compared to January 2024.

February 2025 recorded a modest rise in production of 4.9%. However, March saw a significant increase of 8.4%.
The most substantial growth occurred in April 2025, with production rising by 10.6% – an additional 25m litres compared to April 2024.
The upward trend continued in May, which set a new record for the month at 274.1m litres (up 9.3%). In June, NI farms produced 254.67m litres, up 8.76% compared to June 2024.
