Red diesel prices have recorded a small increase of close on 1p/l over the past week to 63.3p/l, excluding VAT.
Just over one week ago, diesel prices had eased slightly to 62.4p/l, as the value of sterling strengthened against the US dollar.
However, current prices are on par with those at the beginning of August when diesel was around 63.6p/l.
It has been generally on an upward trend since mid-July, when prices were at 61p/l.
Prices this year reached their highest point in May, peaking at 65.1p/l, which was more than 10p/l above fuel prices in January 2019.
Current prices are running 3p/l ahead of the same month last year and 15p/l above fuel prices in August 2017.
