Shown in Table B are the prices paid in June to 1m litre suppliers across three milk qualities highlighted in Table 1 on the opposite page. In line with the trend seen by processors, those milk qualities used in our 1m-litre calculations are little changed from May 2025.

For high-quality milk, the A+B-C payment model used by Tirlán and Lakeland best rewards high solids milk and ensures both lead this particular analysis, despite trailing Aurivo and Dale Farm on base price.

For average solids milk at 4.20% butterfat and 3.30% protein, Tirlán was in fourth last month, but those in the top three positions all cut their base price in June. That leaves Tirlán ahead of Aurivo and Lakeland.

There is a gap of just 0.44p between Tirlán and fifth placed Dale Farm. For low solids milk, Leprino Foods drops to the bottom, as at the parameters used in our analysis, this milk is not eligible to receive the 0.75p/l Mozzarella bonus.

Rolling prices

In the 12 months from July 2024, Tirlán has paid the highest average price for high solids milk of 46.90p/l, with the only change from last month seeing Lakeland edge ahead of Aurivo into third.

For average solids milk the Tirlán 12-month price stands at 45.44p/l, while Dale Farm in second is also above the 45p/l threshold. Those rolling averages are up by around 0.3p/l when compared to last month as June 2024 prices now dropping out of the 12-month analysis were around the 38p/l mark.
