Shorthorns have been in the blood at Ricketstown, Co Carlow, since the 1950s.
However, the Ricketstown Shorthorn herd was officially established in 1982 and, since then, has been at the forefront of the breed at shows and sales across the country.
This year, the herd will host its first online timed auction of 12 top-class Shorthorn heifers and two young bulls.
Conducted by Denis Barrett through the MartEye platform, it will take place online from 19 to 22 September.
Consigned in the sale is the entire 2025 show team, including Ricketstown Mayflower Tilly, the all-Ireland two-year-old beef Shorthorn champion at Mullingar Show.
Ricketstown Urymaid Trixie, the 2025 reserve champion at Tullamore, as well as her sister, the multiple-prizewinning heifer Urymaid Vixen, who which overall champion at this year's Iverk Show and won a number of traditional interbreed classes along the way.

Not to forget Ricketstown Crocus Vava Voom, which was this year's all-Ireland junior yearling champion at Limerick Show.
All these elite heifers sell along with many others in this star-studded line-up.
All cattle can be viewed on farm on Sunday 21 September from noon to 5pm, at R93X6E8, with the sale closing on Monday 22 September.
