More than 11,000 UK car owners participating in the latest annual JD Power survey voted Peugeot the most dependable volume brand. The Peugeot 208 was also voted as the most dependable small car. Overall dependability is determined by the lowest number of problems experienced per 100 vehicles.

Volkswagen unveils first ID electric car

Volkswagen has launched a new range of electric cars with the first car in the new range, a Golf sized model, called ID3.

Volkswagen has launched its ID.3 family of cars. The first car in the new range will be called ID3. Considered to be a Golf size car, it has a range of 420km (261 miles) on a single charge under Europe’s WLTP test cycle. There will be three batteries available with ranges of between 330 km and 550 km.

Dyson hopes to hoover up electric car market

James Dyson, the British based maker of the popular high-tech vacuum cleaners, has plans for an electric car design. His company has lodged patents for a long-wheelbase car with reclining seats. It will run on larger wheels to improve efficiency, even though it is being hinted it will have a low centre or gravity for more stability.

Windsor opens new Dublin Motor Mall

Windsor Motors is opening what it claims is Ireland’s first motor mall at Exit 5 on the M50 in September next. The 2.87ha site will also include an electric vehicle hub with up to 20 free charging points, light commercial vehicle centre, an aftercare workshop, a welcome lounge and café, and 150 car parking spaces.
