Motorway reopens after loose cow brings traffic to standstill

A section of the M9 motorway has reopened this Tuesday morning after a stray cow brought traffic to a halt.

The road was closed for a time after a Limousin cow made its way on to the road.

"We were aware of the incident concerned, the road has since been reopened," a Garda spokesperson told the Irish Farmers Journal.

Traffic was at a standstill between Kilcullen and the M7 merge as a result before the road reopened.
