The ICBF Weaning Performance Report has been rolled out to more than 2,000 eligible suckler farms around the country.
The report was developed in conjunction with Teagasc, the Irish Farmers Journal and the BETTER farm beef programme.
The report ranks calves, cows and sires on pre-weaning performance. The international metric weaning efficiency is also included. A cow’s weaning efficiency is the percentage of her own body weight she has produced in the form of a 200-day-old calf.

The report will help farmers identify their best performing cows and sires in terms of liveweight weaned, and help reduce costs and carbon output.
