I note that there was a bit of a shakeup in the Aurivo board election.
Pat Duffy, from the little known dairy stronghold of Gortletteragh on the Longford border in south Leitrim, has been elected the new chair of Aurivo – formerly Connacht Gold.
Duffy was appointed at a board meeting this week and takes over from Co Mayo farmer Tom Cunniffe.

Interestingly, Duffy previously served as vice-chair of the co-op from 2008 to 2014. He’s been on the board since 2002.
Duffy told The Dealer that he recognises the continued difficulties of the global dairy markets and has committed to supporting their members through the co-op’s Farm Profitability Programme.
Duffy’s vice-chair is Co Sligo farmer Raymond Barlow, who takes over in the role from Michael Brennan.
