Wexford dairy farmer Patrick Hipwell has become one of rural Ireland’s strongest mental health advocates over the last decade or so. Hipwell has spoken in many forums over the years, but last Saturday he took to the pulpit in his local church in Ballindaggin.
The suicide remembrance Mass is a now annual event he was instrumental in establishing, and this year, Hipwell himself was invited to speak.
He urged people to reach out if experiencing mental health issues, and to reach out to those we feel might be struggling.
