"The first priority of Glanbia Co-op must always be sustainable profitable production of milk on farms" - Walter Power, Mangan, Nine-mile-house, Carrick-on-Suir, County Tipperary.
DEAR SIR: I wish to voice the strengths of the producing shareholders of Glanbia Co-op. Our milk processor GIIL is 60% owned by our dairy co-op Glanbia Co-op. When added to the percentage plc which the co-op owns, our co-op is worth over €2bn.
Glanbia Co-op is a dairy co-op. Milk flowing in stainless steel piping on our farms and in stainless steel piping in our processing facilities is the lifeblood of our existence as individual farmers and as a dairy co-op.
The first priority of Glanbia Co-op must always be sustainable profitable production of milk on farms and sustainable profitable processing of milk in our facilities in Ireland. On our farms, the milking cows get the best grass as they are the cows delivering the lifeblood that give our farms a strong pulse. Glanbia Co-op, concentrating on the top two priorities, will deliver for everyone long-term, just like the goose and the golden egg.
