The nature restoration law has the ability to rule out any further extension to the derogation. This law must be farmer-led and correctly funded if it is to be of any benefit to society. We must have all stakeholders; consumers, farmers and Government, on board.

Regenerative agriculture ticks all the boxes to achieving the plan’s goals. It is part of the solution, but must be researched in an Irish context. Much of this research is already done on a State-owned research farm in Dowth, Co Meath. This should be used for the benefit of all society..
