Michael Patten appointed Head of HR and Corporate Affairs at Glanbia
Patten had already held the position of Corporate Affairs Director since September and takes over the HR role from now CEO of Global Ingredients, Brian Phelan.
Michael Patten has been appointed as Group Human Resources & Corporate Affairs Director at Glanbia plc.
Patten takes up the new position immediately, which combines the roles of Group Human Resources Director, previously held by Brian Phelan, and Corporate Affairs Director, a position he already held since September.
Patten re-joined Glanbia in September as Global Corporate Affairs Director after almost 11 years with Diageo plc where he was Global Public Affairs Director. He previously served as Glanbia’s Communications Director from 1997 until 2003.

Commenting on the appointment, Glanbia Group Managing Director, Siobhan Talbot said: “Given his understanding of Glanbia’s global growth strategy as well as the heritage and culture of our company, he is in a strong position to lead, develop and execute a people and culture strategy to enable the next phase of our organisation’s growth and development. These new duties are in addition to his current responsibilities for global communications, public affairs and sustainability.”
