Topping the entries for the Northern Irish breeders that crossed the water was 10,500gns for Killadeas Noah. This September 2017 born bull was bred and exhibited by Stuart and David Bothwell, Ballina Mallard, Co Fermanagh and was also a second prize-winner in the pre-sale show.

Sired by Blelack Blackberet he is out of the homebred daughter Killadeas Hazeline, herself a daughter of the 16,000gns Blackford Dynamite.

The Bothell’s also exhibited a second bull at 5,250gns. This bull Killadeas Nero was sired by Gwenog Braveheart and out of a Dunlon Ulick daughter.

Woodpark Neptune was another high-priced Irish bull, selling for 9,500gns. This 18-month old lad is by the Irish-bred Deeside Guillver who added 94 progeny to the British herd book. His dam Woodpark Izzy is, in turn, sired by the 19,000gns Perth reserve junior champion Corrie Alan and he came all the way from Beragh, Co Tyrone with breeder and exhibitor Will Short.

Mr Short’s June 2017 born Woodpark Nelson, another son of Deeside Gulliver and out of Woodpark Ivana was knocked down sold for 4,000gns to Edward Hull, Southminster, who purchased a total of five bulls for his Essex-based 900 strong suckler unit.
