Department of Agriculture staff will be available from this week until 15 May to assist farmers with making their 2019 BPS application online.

As of last year, all BPS applications must be completed online and clinics will be rolled out across the country to facilitate one-to-one meetings between farmers and Department staff. These meetings will provide support to complete both BPS and transfer of entitlements applications.

The online applications for this year’s BPS opened in February and since then over 20,000 farmers have already made an application.

Online

All direct payments schemes – BPS, Greening, Young Farmers Scheme, National Reserve, transferring of entitlements, and the Areas of Natural Constraint Scheme – are now conducted online.

Minister for Agriculture Michael Creed said: “I would urge all farmers to avail of the opportunity to apply for the BPS at this stage via the online system. It is open for farmers to do this either as individuals or through an agent.”
