The Ornua PPI for April is 100.4 points, equivalent to a milk price of 28.03c/l, excluding VAT.

The PPI is based on Ornua’s product purchase mix and assumed costs of 6.5p/l.

The April 2018 index is unchanged from March, with higher butter and skim milk powder (SMP) returns in the month, offset by lower cheddar returns.

It comes as co-ops prepare to set April milk prices. Lakeland is to announce its price on Friday and Glanbia is to announce a price on Monday.
