“Ornua” is set to be the new name for the Irish Dairy Board (IDB).
The name will be officially adopted once it has shareholder approval, which is expected to happen in early 2015.
The name is derived from the the Irish for gold “ór” and new “nua”. There will be no fada on the “o”, however it is understood there will be a nod to it in the logo design for the new name.

The name change is part of a “core identity” review by the IDB to help it position itself as the dynamic hub it needs to be for the Irish dairy sector post-quota.
