The decision to open private storage aid (PSA) for pigmeat was adopted this week, following a vote by the European Commission in February.
This means operators are eligible to receive aid to cover storage costs of pigmeat for periods of 90, 120 or 150 days. The last time PSA for pigmeat was enforced was in February 2011.
Applications are available through the Department of Agriculture's website. Click here to apply.
