Auctioneer Pat Maguire, Skibereen, is handling the sale of a 42-acre residential farm situated in Kilbeg, Leap, Co Cork. The farm is for sale by private treaty and is located about a mile from the villages of Leap and Glandore, which are both close to the scenic west Cork coastline.
The farm is on the market in its entire for €400,000, or in three separate lots. Lot one comprises the farmhouse, a second ruined farmhouse and several stone outbuildings set on one acre. According to Maguire, the two houses form a natural courtyard, which would make a fine property if the buildings were restored. Lot one is guided at €95,000 and is already under offer from interested parties who “want to buy it, do it up and sell it on”.
The second lot comprises the 8.5 acres which surround the houses. This land is described as good-quality farmland and comes at an asking price of €75,000 (€8,825/acre). Lot three extends to the remaining 38 acres and is guided at €250,000 (€6,580/acre). It is described as old pasture grassland that needs a bit of improvement work, but has plenty of potential as it is surrounded by good farmland.
