At this time of year the Irish Farmers Journal livestock team would normally be on the road running mart events and demos for farmers.
COVID-19 has put a halt on physical events for now so in 2021 the Irish Farmers Journal livestock team will come to you in a series of spring webinars.
The webinars will cover a range of topics across the dairy, beef and sheep sectors and aim to give farmers some helpful tips on spring tasks like calving, turnout, grassland management, target performance and more.
They will also offer a chance to discuss topics important to farmers. The aim of the webinars is to get maximum engagement with farmers across a range of enterprises.
The first webinar will focus on calving the cow and care of the calf. Part of this webinar will be broadcast live from the calving shed where we will take farmers through the step by step process of a live calving during the webinar.
The livestock team will be on hand to answer any questions on malpresentations or difficult calvings and we will also go through proper management coming up to calving and highlight some useful tips on keeping calves healthy in their first few weeks of life.
If there are topics you would like to cover on the night, email firstname.lastname@example.org with your suggestions and we will try and cover as many as we can on the night.
