The former professor of agricultural economics at UCD, Seamus Sheehy, has passed away. Mr Sheehy was the founder of agricultural economics at the university.

He was recognised as Ireland’s leading agricultural economist and retired from the role of professor in 2002.

Mr Sheehy passed away peacefully on 20 July at Gascoigne House, Dublin. He will be reposing at his residence this Monday evening 23 July from 4pm until 7pm.

Requiem mass on Tuesday 24 July at 11.30am in the Church of Saints Columbanus and Gall, Milltown, will be followed by burial at Kilternan Park Cemetery. Family flowers only by request.
