Three commercial show heifers are feared stolen from the farm of well-known cattle breeder James Alexander at Randalstown, Co Antrim.

In a post on Facebook on Wednesday night, Alexander described how the three valuable heifers are “missing from a shed” and “cannot be found” at his Jalex farm.

The show-type heifer breeder said the three animals are all “very distinctive” and used to the halter.

Heifers

The first of the three is a show-type black heifer with white tail and rump, approximately 700kg.

A second heifer is a yellow, muscley Charolais with a white stripe on her face. The heifer was shown all summer and is also approximately 700kg.

The third missing heifer is a 750kg red roan.

The final of the three animals is a 750kg show-type red roan heifer.

All three cattle have recently had a TB test and Alexander says that, therefore, they will have fresh clip marks on their left-hand side. The cattle are also EID micro-chipped.

Reward

The Antrim cattle breeder is offering a reward to anyone with “viable information leading to the return of these stock”.

“I really hope these cattle have not been stolen. I hope with all hope it is a genuine straying situation. Farming has more than enough issues without the wrong doing of fellow farmers making it worse,” he said on Facebook.

Anyone with information on the animals is asked to call Alexander on +447816775501.
