Simmental champion Sacombe Dandelion–Oma, after being tapped out as interbreed champion.

Although a small number of the breed was put forward, those animals that were present at this year’s Royal Welsh agricultural show made quite the impact. Senior cow Sacombe Dandelion-Oma, from J and B Borlase, was awarded the overall interbreed championship ahead of 14 other breeds. This seven-year-old cow is no stranger to the show ring, having claimed overall champion at the society’s national finals in Norfolk last month. Shown alongside her bull calf, the stylish cow is a daughter of Irish-bred bull Clonagh World Class.
Blonde and reseve interbreed champion, Doncombe Madhu.
Taking up the reserve beef interbreed championship was the day’s British Blonde champion, Doncombe Madhu. Bred and exhibited by David Knight, this first-calver was also shown alongside her stylish bull calf. Madhu holds a strong show record, claiming interbreed champion at the three counties as an in-calf heifer and going back this year to win the interbreed cow and calf class. The sire of this January 2016-born cow is Aramis, while the dam is Doncombe Ishtar.
