Cavan
Ballyhaise in Co Cavan recorded almost 58mm in the seven days – again, more than two and a half times the normal level.
Shannon airport and Cork airport both saw more than 50mm of rain, while rainfall at Knock airport was twice as high as normal.
This will leave farmers under mounting pressure from filling slurry tanks. Slurry is being moved within and between farms, where some tanks have spare capacity.
