A status yellow snow and ice warning has been issued by Met Éireann which will take effect from Monday 21 January at 9pm, and remain in force until 7pm the following day.

Wintry conditions are expected with regular scattered sleet and snow showers over Ulster and Connacht.

These are forecast to continue in eastern and midland parts of the country, with some snow expected in the south. Accumulations of up to 2cm of snow are predicted for southern regions of the country.
