Met Éireann has extended the status orange snow-ice warning for Dublin, Carlow, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Louth, Wexford, Wicklow, Meath and Waterford until 6pm on Sunday.
The nationwide status yellow snow-ice warning remains in place until 9am on Monday.
Farmers around the country woke up to frozen pipes and water troughs on Sunday morning, and fears have set in that farms could be in for a repeat of beast-like conditions similar to when Storm Emma hit the country just a few weeks ago.
Some farmers hoping to let stock out this week to relieve pressure on sheds will be severely disappointed by the continued poor weather conditions.
Gardaí and the RSA have urged motorists to drive carefully, particularly in the east of the country where the status orange weather warning is in place.
A further blow for many will also be that the Irish Grand Slam champions have had to postpone their homecoming to the Aviva stadium in Dublin this evening, after their Six Nations triumph over England this weekend.
